The Institute of Biochemistry at the ETH Zurich (http://www.bc.biol.ethz.ch) invites applications for a Assistant Professor position for a period 6 years. The position must be supported by a SNSF Professorship Grant. (http://www.snf.ch/E/funding/individuals/SNSFProfessorships/Pages/default.aspx). Research programs should concern molecular mechanisms of cellular processes. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, RNA biology, intracellular transport, cell cycle, membrane dynamics, lipid biology, genome stability, and metabolism.
The successful candidate has a postdoctoral research experience between 2 to 6 years with a strong publication record. According to the SNSF guidelines, the applicant requires a Swiss University degree or at least 2 years research activity at a Swiss University. The candidate is expected to establish and lead an independent and internationally competitive research group, and will actively contribute to teaching of graduate and undergraduate students.
The ETH Zurich offers an interactive, state of the art research environment at the Hönggerberg campus with imaging and screening facilities. The institute provides a fully equipped laboratory with an attractive start-up package.
